Focus Group: Local Consumers Go Shopping
This session will feature an edited video presentation of a consumer
focus group conducted specifically for the conference by The Kelsey
Group. Focus group respondents will reveal their online shopping behaviors
and preferences and how those influence their offline buying behavior.
How many and what sites do they visit before they buy? What sorts
of information do they expect and want to see online? How important
are maps, ratings and reviews? How much research do they conduct before
making an offline purchase? Do these consumers refine their queries
or keep searching on "generic" terms or categories? These
and other questions will be explored.

pm – 5:30 pm
Local Advertiser Panel: Where Do We Go from
Here?
This informal, pre-conference session will bring together a number
of local, small business advertisers who are new to online marketing
for a lively give and take discussion of their experiences and thought
processes about advertising. What caused them to make the leap online?
Do they all have Web sites? Where are they planning to allocate their
limited advertising dollars? What do they think of the proliferating
online marketing options? Is search too complex; is it essential?
Will they continue to invest in offline media? What does the future
hold for these local advertisers?

Pre-Conference Networking Reception
Sponsored by Yahoo! Local
Join The Kelsey Group, exhibitors, journalists and conference attendees
at this exclusive pre-conference networking session. Exhibitors will
be displaying and demonstrating their new product offerings. Members
of the media will be seeking interviews with companies that are making
or have recently made announcements. Kelsey Group analysts will be
mingling and informally available to discuss the program, recent research
and anything else of interest. Attendees will be connecting with one
another and with companies for business-development discussions.
Attendees consistently
cite business development opportunities and the caliber of executive
decision makers as differentiators of Kelsey Group events:
"Just wanted
to take a moment and thank you again for the opportunity. I found
the conference more beneficial than any other search engine-related
one I have been to. The topics and discussions at all panels (including
social networking, of course) were extremely interesting, current,
and valuable. I also made some excellent business contacts, which
I look forward to developing over the next few months. My only regret
was that I was so busy I never made it into the city!"

“The Kelsey
conferences are excellent with highly focused, decision-level attendees.
The audience has the type of individuals that are critical to building
success in our area of business. Attendees are open to conversations,
presentations and general industry dealing (and having fun). I have
always had time to talk and set-up “side meetings” with
the individuals that were important for me to meet. I estimate it
would take me about 20 different presentations (along with the corresponding
travel) to achieve the same benefit as your recent conference offered
me. In short, there is no conference in my business area that contains
more intelligent business opportunities for Ingenio. That’s
why we send a large crew to each event.”

"The
Kelsey Group's Interactive Local Media is the power conference where
those shaping and defining the local media and commerce space come
and meet, mingle, haggle, spar and enjoy the premier event for local
media and commerce. The agenda, venue and content is first rate all
around and I highly recommend it."
