Microsoft in Local
Microsoft is the "quiet giant" of the local revolution, providing services to hundreds of thousands of small businesses, funneling geo-targeted traffic via MSN and building a mapping capability that drives new kinds of business. Last year, it made it clear it intended to transform voice services and advertising by its purchases of TellMe and aQuantive (the latter, for $6 billion). Erik Jorgensen runs every aspect of local for MS and will provide an A-Z blueprint for Microsoft's growth in the area.

Keynote Address
Fox Interactive Media is living proof that old line media companies can “get it.” The company has made a spectacular splash with MySpace, and is now focused on localizing and verticalizing the site (which continues to have three times the traffic of Facebook). Now, FIM is also focused on adding interactive value to Fox’s powerful media holdings. Head of technology, Adam Bain, a local media leader dating back to Advance Newspapers, is spearheading the efforts. He will share a blueprint for verticalizing social media.

How are phone-based products developing, and what kind of traction are they getting? Expert Garry Galinsky, who works with Call Genie, will provide a run-down.
