Daniel Anstandig, President, McVay New Media Future-minded and passionate, Daniel Anstandig was recently recognized by Billboard Magazine as one of the top five innovators in media. His experience includes developing digital business strategies for media companies, designing content strategies for broadcast and interactive, and coaching executives. As the President of McVay New Media Consulting, Anstandig has advised The Wall Street Journal, CBS News, Clear Channel R&D, The White House Commission on Remembrance, Glencoe-McGraw Hill, TM Studios, and various broadcasting companies in the USA, Canada, and Europe. Most Recently, Anstandig became the co-founder of Listener Driven Radio, a software company with applications that empower broadcasters to become “crowdcasters.” Prior to joining McVay Media in 2001, Daniel’s experience includes stints as General Manager, Network/Syndicated Program Director, and On-Air Personality. In 2001, he was named the #1 Young Entrepreneur by Young Entrepreneur Magazine, in recognition of an internet-radio company he founded. Daniel is also a proud two-time recipient of Edison Media Research’s 30 Under 30 Award. Lisa Bishop, VP, Internet Operations and New Media, Gray Television Group Lisa Bishop is the Vice President of New Media for Gray Television Group, Inc. She conceived and executed the formulation of Gray Interactive Media in 2002 which she currently leads. Lisa oversees all Internet operations, Web development, new media business development, and revenue strategies for Gray. Gray currently operates 36 television stations serving 30 markets. Each of the stations are affiliated with either CBS (17 stations), NBC (10 stations), ABC (8 stations) or FOX (1 station). In addition to operating 39 digital second channels including 1 ABC, 4 FOX, 7 CW, 18 MyNetworkTV, 2 Universal Sports Network affiliates and 7 local news/weather channels in certain of existing markets. Lisa was the catalyst to a culture transformation of Gray’s local television stations and the creation of their local Web Channels by transforming a traditional media distribution company to focus on content gathering and syndication across multiple digital platforms. 2002 was also the first year Gray implemented a New Media sales strategy; of which saw a 100% growth in online revenue after the first year of inception - revenue growth has continued since and has expanded beyond online to mobile platforms as well. Before joining Gray, Lisa also led the interactive team for Benedek Broadcasting. In addition to broadcast experience, Lisa also did a stint as a sports correspondent for Chicago’s local newspaper The Daily Herald covering local high school sports. In 1998 Lisa served as Sports Information Director Assistant for Montreat College where she brought the college’s sports coverage online for the first time with the development of their Web site. Lisa currently serves as a board member for the OMVC, as well as a member of the local CBS Interactive Committee. Pierre Bouvard, Executive VP, Cross-Platform Services, Arbitron Inc. Pierre Bouvard serves as Executive Vice President, Cross-Platform Services. The Cross-Platform Media Services team is charged with leveraging Arbitron's Portable People Meter (PPM) technology to establish audience measurement for new customer segments. Prior to this, Pierre was the EVP Sales, President, Portable People Meter, as well as Vice President and General Manager for Arbitron Radio. Pierre started his career at Arbitron in various sales and management capacities, in the Chicago, San Francisco, New York and Dallas offices. He left Arbitron for a six-year period, when he was Executive Vice President of Coleman Research, one of the premier strategic consulting firms for radio stations. Colleen Brown, President and CEO, Fisher Communications Colleen is the President and CEO of Fisher Communications, Inc., responsible for all aspects of Fisher’s operations, including the operation of its twelve television and nine radio stations. Prior to joining Fisher, Colleen was a senior vice president at Belo Corporation, responsible for its Texas broadcast and cable properties, Belo Interactive, Belo’s Spanish-language initiatives, and business development. Prior to joining Belo, she served as president of the Lee Broadcast Group. She was responsible for all aspects of Lee’s broadcast operations, including eight network-affiliated television stations and seven satellite operations, a mobile production company, and a Telemundo affiliate. Colleen began her career at Gannett in 1980, rising through the ranks of KUSA-TV in Denver to become vice president and station manager. In 1991 she was named president and general manager of WFMY-TV in Greensboro/Highpoint/Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She moved to Phoenix in 1995 as president and general manager of Gannett’s television operations in Arizona. Colleen was elected twice to the National Association of Broadcasters’ Board of Directors, and also served on the boards of the National Association of Television Program Executives, Maximum Service Television, Inc., and the Television Bureau for Advertising. In addition, she served on the Television Operator Caucus task force and the NAB’s Futures Committees. Colleen graduated summa cum laude with a double major in political science and business administration from the University of Dubuque as a Presidential Scholar. and managed radio stations in various markets since 1990, and

two FM stations in the Williamsburg Market, and launched the
digital newspaper Williamsburg Yorktown Daily in June of 2008.
Davis invented the “promote through content model,” combining

celebrated an average growth in local readership of 29% per
month. The digital paper has over 60,000 local readers and
44% penetration of the market’s 136,000 residents, and

John Gehron, COO, AccuRadio John Gehron is a respected radio programmer and executive with over 40 years of radio industry experience. John began his radio career launching the first-ever major-market FM oldies stations, WOGL/Philadelphia and WCBS-FM/New York City, the latter which quickly became the most-listened-to FM station in America. He then spent 14 years as PD and eventually VP/GM at the legendary WLS-AM-FM/Chicago, was named VP/GM of CBS-owned WOGL/Boston, was a founding Co-COO of American Radio Systems, and, when that company was sold to CBS, became a regional manager and eventually EVP/Programming for all of CBS Radio. More recently, he has been the cluster manger for Clear Channel's seven Chicago stations and General Manager of Harpo Radio, overseeing operations and programming for Oprah Winfrey's lifestyle talk radio channel on XM Satellite Radio. Prior to joining Mercury Media, Goodman was Director, Consumer Research at Yankee Group, where he provided market research, syndicated reports, decision support tools, and consulting services to clients trying to understand and profit from the impact of technology on content, advertising and consumer behavior. At Yankee Group, Goodman authored over 80 reports, a number of which received recognition for “Best Report” and was responsible for developing their interactive advertising team. Erik Hellum, President, GapWest Broadcasting Erik Hellum became the President of GAP Broadcasting II, LLC, in May 2008. GAP West currently owns and operates 56 radio stations in 12 markets located in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Minnesota. In addition to maximizing market dominant radio clusters, GAP West is focused on monetizing the online component of its station brands, and also using the reach of its station clusters to launch new online brands, including Saveonthelot.com, and a community portal to be launched in 2010. From 2002 through 2008, Hellum worked for Bonneville International Communications. Until late 2004, Hellum served as Vice President/Market Manager of WIL/WRTH in St. Louis, where he helped rebuild one of America’s great country stations. From there, he moved to Phoenix as the Vice President/Market Manager for KTAR/KPKX/KMVP. During that time, Hellum and his team split heritage news/talk/sports station KTAR-AM into two stations. The AM went all sports, and quickly became the most successful all sports start up of the last decade. The news/talk product was re-launched on FM and flourished, as part of Bonneville’s innovative strategy of moving news and news/talk to FM. KPKX was among the first, and best, adult hits stations in America. From 1999 to 2001, he was regional vice president of sales for AMFM Inc., and was executive vice president of Clear Channel Group Sales from 2001 to 2002. Prior to AMFM, Hellum enjoyed a 10-year tenure with Katz Radio, the leading national radio representation firm. While there, he held several senior positions including account manager, vice president/manager, vice president/station relations, and senior vice president/station relations for various Katz operations in Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1987, and he currently serves on the boards of directors for the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, the Arizona Broadcasters Association and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism Endowment. He and his wife, Jennifer, have been married for 17 years and are the parents of two sons. His personal interests include music, travel, film, baseball, and football. |

Dave Kennedy, CEO, FlyCast David is the CEO of Flycast, Inc. FlyCast (www.FlyCast.fm) was founded in 2006 by a group of seasoned PC and internet industry veterans to create advanced IP-based mobile delivery technology that focused on smartphones and other mobile digital media devices. The company’s downloadable FlyCast application offers users over 1500 channels of entertainment, delivered to their smartphone over wireless connections. In addition, its "appMobi" developer toolkit permits any web developer to create and deploy customized applications for the iPad, smartphones and other mobile devices. Prior to his work at Flycast, he was CEO/Vice Chairman of Interep National Radio Sales in New York, and also served as CEO of Susquehanna Media Co., one of the largest major market radio, cable and internet companies in the U.S. During the 1970s, David held various on-air and management positions at Toledo radio stations WMHE and WLQR until being promoted in 1983 to Vice President Planning and Research for Susquehanna Radio Corp. In August of 1989, he was named Senior Vice President and assumed direct responsibility for several midwest stations while managing group planning and research operations for all Susquehanna stations. David has chaired, actively participated in, and received numerous accolades from the boards of directors of the National Association of Broadcasters, Radio Advertising Bureau, John Bayliss Broadcast Foundation, and the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation among many others. His community work includes chairing local United Way, Red Cross and Community Foundation boards. He and his wife, Bev, have three children and five grandchildren. |

Steve Lanzano, President, TVB Steve Lanzano came to the Television Bureau of Advertising in January, 2010, from MPG U.S., where as chief operating officer, he was responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of MPG’s marketing and service professionals across the U.S. He oversaw all client accounts at MPG, including Fidelity, Dannon, Volvo, Reckitt Benckiser, Sears, CBS Films, and McDonald’s. Before joining MPG, Mr. Lanzano was the chief executive officer of Mediaedge:cia, responsible for overseeing the agency’s operations across the U.S. and Canada, and global media director at sister agency Mindshare, where he was responsible for the American Express business. He also held executive positions in New York at Ogilvy & Mather, Ammirati & Puris and FCB as well as working at Ted Bates and NW Ayer Advertising. He has received much industry recognition throughout his career. He was named a Media All-Star by the former Marketing & Media Decisions (now MediaWeek), received two Creative Media Awards, the 1994 FCB Chairman’s Award and has been the principal speaker at the annual meetings of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) and the Magazine Publishers Association (MPA). Leslie Laredo, President, Laredo Group Leslie Laredo is an interactive and Internet advertising pioneer with more than 25 years in the online and interactive industry. Leslie has trained and consulted with start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, small to large advertising agencies and multi-brand media publishers. Previously, Mr. Livek was the co-Chair and Director of Simmons Market Research Bureau where he directed the growth and evolution of the company into a media-neutral, consumer-centric research and data business widely utilized by brands, advertising agencies and media organizations. During his tenure at Simmons Market Research Bureau, Mr. Livek orchestrated the sale of the company to Experian. Mr. Livek was also co-founder of Transactional Data Solutions (an LLC with MasterCard), and was a principal shareholder in Birch Research and directed the integration of Birch into Scarborough Research where he served as President and CEO, growing the company to serve the top fifty markets. Earlier in his career, Mr. Livek served as Vice President of Sales/Marketing for Arbitron Radio. Kerry Oslund, Corporate VP, Digital Media, Schurz Communications Prior to joining Schurz Communication Inc., Kerry was Vice President of New Media for Gannett Broadcasting. In that role, he focused on new opportunities in journalism, programming and business on emerging platforms. He served as the primary digital liaison between Gannett Broadcasting, USA Today, Gannett US Community Publishing, the recently formed Digital Division, the corporate legal and mergers and acquisitions areas. He also had corporate responsibility for 18 broadcast web and WAP sites and as many newer pure-play online verticals (moms, high school sports, and entertainment). Oslund was honored this year with Gannett's Chairman Award for both past and future contributions. In January 2003, Kerry moved to corporate headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Beginning in 2000, he served as New Director at WXIA-TV, in Atlanta. At that same Gannett station, Kerry held roles as Executive Producer, Special Projects EP and Newscast Producer from 1985-1990. During that time, he spent one hear in Washington, DC, as Supervising Producer and Lead Writer for Gannett's nationally syndicated program, USA Today on TV. In 1996, Kerry was News Director at Lee Enterprises KOIN-TV, in Portland, Oregon. In 1999, he added the title of Corporate News Director for Lee Enterprises, helping news operations at seven other network affiliated stations. Before that, Kerry was News Director at WZZM-TV, in Grand Rapids and WVTM-TV, in Birmingham (both Argyle stations). From 1990-1994, Kerry worked in Los Angeles as Executive Producer for the Walt Disney Company. He helped create and supervise KCAL TV's Prime 9 News, the first prime-time all-local news block in a major market. Kerry has a journalism degree from Arizona State University, graduating in 1983. While attending college, he produced newscasts and worked the assignment desk for the local CBS affiliate in Phoenix. He has travelled extensively for strategic planning, moderating focus and usability sessions, leading branding and innovation workshops and vetting new opportunities. He attend the Center for Creative Leadership, was part of Gannett's inaugural class for IDEO Innovation training, and regularly led innovation and design challenge sessions at Gannett. She oversees all client investments in local markets in the US that include P&G, Kraft, Comcast, Wal-Mart, Public Storage, Mars, Capital One, Heineken, and others. A 20+ year veteran in the business, Maribeth began her career at what was formerly known as Foote Cone and Belding in LA. During her stay, she rose to VP, Associate Media Director overseeing all planning assignments across a broad list of accounts. Her diversity of planning knowledge as well as her keen negotiating skills prepared her well for the future. But she put that all on hold for a few years, left to live in Greece, married and had a child. Returning to the US, she set down roots in her hometown of Chicago where she landed a position at the former DMB&B. Within one year, she was running the Chicago buying office and shortly after, the entire country. She moved to NY to consolidate the operation and set forth to develop new economies in local buying while demonstrating its importance for consideration in the media plan. Papuga received a Mediaweek Media All Stars award for Spot TV and has previously chaired the AAAA Local Television and Radio Committee. Skip Pizzi, Technology Editor, Radio INK Magazine, and Media Technology Consultant Skip Pizzi is a media technology consultant whose clients include many U.S. and international broadcasters, government agencies, educational institutions, foundations and manufacturers. He also serves as Technology Editor for Radio Ink magazine. An award-winning radio and audio engineer, Skip’s background includes 25 years as a technical manager at National Public Radio and at Microsoft. He founded NPR’s technical training department, and contributed to numerous digital media efforts at Microsoft. He has also held leadership positions in several technical standards-development organizations. Skip is an active broadcast-technology trade journalist, editor and author. His first book, Digital Radio Basics, was the world’s first commercial text on DAB. His most recent book, published in October 2009 by Focal Press, is Audio Over IP, which he co-authored with Steve Church. Tim Reynolds, Director, Interactive Media, Local Media Group, Meredith Corp. Tim Reynolds has been Director, Interactive Media for the Meredith Local Media Group since September of 2004. In this role Tim is responsible for the Interactive efforts of the 12 station broadcasting group. This involves creating the station web sites, mobile platforms, digital channels and all aspects of the stations outside of their main broadcast signal. He also directs the non-traditional sales efforts of the group. He is based in Nashville but spends much of his time at the stations helping the sales efforts. The Local Media group is constantly improving their web sites and expanding their platforms to wherever there is a screen, including mobile. Prior to working at Meredith Tim held a variety of sales and management positions for NBC, Clear Channel Television, and Cap Cities/ABC radio. Tim is a graduate of Dartmouth College. Jeff Smulyan, CEO, Emmis Communications Jeffrey H. Smulyan, 62, serves as Chairman of the Board of Emmis Communications Corporation, an Indianapolis–based radio, TV and magazine publishing company with operations in 12 U.S. markets and Hungary, Belgium, Slovakia and Bulgaria. A cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.A. in History and Telecommunications, Smulyan earned a Juris Doctor degree from USC School of Law, where he served as note and comment editor of the USC Law Review. After operating two radio stations – WNTS in Indianapolis and KCRO in Omaha - Smulyan formed and became principal shareholder of Emmis in 1980. A public company since 1994, Emmis owns and operates 21 FM and 2 AM radio stations in the nation’s largest markets; six local, regional and national magazine operations; and radio stations in Belgium, Hungary, Bulgaria and Slovakia. In 1995, Emmis became the first company to own top-rated stations in New York and Los Angeles simultaneously. A former director of the National Association of Broadcasters and former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Radio Advertising Bureau, Smulyan served as past chair of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, a consortium of CEOs from central Indiana’s largest corporations, and sits on the Board of Trustees of the University of Southern California. In 2006, The Broadcasters’ Foundation honored him with its Golden Mike Award in recognition of his charitable efforts. In 1994, Smulyan was named by The White House to head the U.S. Delegation to the Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunications Union.
