The Kelsey Group Names Donald J. Perozzi, Retired Group President, BellSouth Advertising and Publishing, Recipient of Yellow Pages Lifetime Achievement Award
Mr. Perozzi to receive his award during a ceremony at The Kelsey Group's Directory Driven Commerce conference later this month in Atlanta.
Princeton, NJ (July 8, 2004) – The Kelsey Group today announced that the 2004 recipient of its Yellow Pages Lifetime Achievement Award is Donald J. Perozzi, retired group president, BellSouth Advertising and Publishing. Mr. Perozzi will receive his award during a ceremony at DDC2004, The Kelsey Group's annual Directory Driven Commerce conference, taking place July 21-23, 2004, at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center, Atlanta, Georgia.
"Not only was Don the chief executive officer of the largest directory business in the world, he was also a visionary leader of the Yellow Pages Publishers Association," said John F. Kelsey, III, president and CEO of The Kelsey Group. "Don brought a sense of direction and continually set high goals for both his own company and the industry as a whole."
Mr. Perozzi presided over BellSouth Advertising and Publishing from 1986- 2001, taking the group from $900 million in 1986 to $2.4 billion at the time of his retirement in 2001. Prior to his tenure at BellSouth, Mr. Perozzi was a vice president of AT&T's Southeast Region for national accounts. He is a graduate of the Harvard University Program for Management Development and Wharton's Sales Management Program. He earned his undergraduate degree at DePauw University.
The Kelsey Group established the Yellow Pages Lifetime Achievement Award to recognize an individual who has made significant contributions to the industry, adheres to high standards, sets meaningful goals and exhibits innovative leadership. Last year's recipient was Tom Feist, president of Feist Publications Inc.
