Prominent Executives from Global Yellow Pages Industry to Headline The Kelsey Group’s DDC2005 Conference Next Month
More than 40 speakers will offer perspectives on the future of directory publishing.
Princeton, NJ (August 17, 2005) -- The Kelsey Group anticipates more than 400 executives representing every segment of the global Yellow Pages industry to be in attendance next month at Directory Driven Commerce 2005 (DDC2005), September 27-29, at the Denver Marriott Tech Center.
Since 1988 The Kelsey Group has held over 30 conferences devoted to the print and electronic Yellow Pages business. This year, as the market valuation of the industry has grown to over $100 billion dollars, executives will gather to consider the question, ‘What is the future of the Yellow Pages?’
The three-day agenda will feature more than 40 speakers, including four keynote addresses from executives who are among the most influential in the global Yellow Pages community—George Burnett, president and CEO, Dex Media, Inc.; Kathy Harless, president, Verizon Information Services and vice chair, YPA; Charles Stubbs, president and CEO, YellowPages.com; and Joe Walsh, president and CEO, Yellow Book USA.
“Despite modest growth and an uncertain future in the face of transformational technologies, Yellow Pages remains a very attractive industry,” said Charles Laughlin, program director for The Kelsey Report®, and DDC2005 conference chair. “We’ve asked our keynote speakers to look into their crystal balls and tell us where they see this industry going.”
DDC2005 attendees will also have the privilege of listening to and participating in an exclusive Kelsey Group interview with one of the leading figures in the global Yellow Pages arena, Marc Tellier, president and CEO of Yellow Pages Group.
An annual highlight of The Kelsey Group’s Yellow Pages conference is the Leadership Panel, which offers a rare opportunity to learn from a who’s who line-up of chief executives engaged in a frank and lively discussion of the most important topics facing the industry. This year’s panel features industry influencers representing the print, digital, finance, agency and supplier communities—Perry Evans, CEO, Local Matters; Gary L. Fascilla, president, Metro Directories; Norm Hagarty, president, DAC Group; Maurice McKenzie, vice president, Media Research, Friedman, Billings, Ramsay; Dennis Payne, president and CEO, SBC Directory Operations and chair, YPA; and Cornel Riklin, CEO, Findexa AS.
Also on the conference program is new primary Kelsey Group research, including data from the latest wave of the Local Commerce MonitorSM, a tracking study conducted jointly by The Kelsey Group and ConStat, Inc. Since the first wave was conducted in 1999, LCM has become a key industry barometer of local advertiser behavior. The study asks local businesses how they invest in technology to promote and manage their businesses, how they allocate their media budgets, and what their expectations are for future activities to attract customers.
The Kelsey Group’s annual Yellow Pages conference has been recognized as the definitive event on the future of the industry. DDC2005 sponsors include Acxiom Corp., Amacai, Amdocs, Call Genie, CallSource, DCCI, eStara, Fast Search & Transfer, Geosign, Innovectra, Interchange, Local Matters, OKS Group, TrafficLeader, Verizon Information Services, Who’s Calling and YellowPages.com.
