What's a Yellow Pages Publisher Worth?

Issue: Sales Force, Cash Flow Make Qwest Dex a Prize Catch

News: In a recent Wall Street Journal article, Qwest Communications CEO Joseph Nacchio expressed ambivalence about the company's Dex Yellow Pages publishing subsidiary. Qwest inherited Dex as part of its acquisition of U S WEST. The article suggested Qwest is still deciding what to do with the Yellow Pages group. Nacchio told the Journal, "In the new Qwest, we have to be very good at the things that we do." The question yet to be answered is whether Yellow Pages publishing falls within Qwest's perceived core competencies.
