Dominates Today's Nearly $25B Market, but for How Long?
Kelsey Group has completed its forecast for printed Yellow Pages advertising
worldwide through 2010. TKG estimates global Yellow Pages publishing will
bring in roughly $24.8 billion in revenues in 2000, with the U.S. and
Canada accounting for 56 percent of that amount. TKG forecasts the total
will rise to $30 billion in 2005 and $33 billion in 2010, at which point
the U.S. and Canada will have a 50 percent market share, while Asia and
Latin America will have gained share at the expense of the two North American
countries. TKG forecasts Europe will maintain a stable share of total
worldwide ad revenues.
TKG predicts modest
overall growth during the coming decade. North America will grow at a
declining pace, Europe should remain relatively stable, while Latin America
and Pacific Rim countries will increase their share of the world market.
