an interview with The Kelsey Group, Lars Guldstrand, president and CEO
of Eniro, which was spun off from Swedish telco Telia in October 2000,
explained how his new company is positioned to become one of the growth
leaders among the emerging European Yellow Pages/online media conglomerates.
In addition to its
existing operations in Scandinavia, Russia and the Baltic states, Eniro
recently made a big leap into the German market by acquiring Yellow Pages
publisher Windhager Mediagruppe, Germany's seventh-largest publisher,
for approximately 99 million euros, and Wer liefert was? (WLW), a leading
business-to-business publisher that was wholly owned by SBC, for an estimated
125 million euros. The two acquisitions add 25 percent to revenues and
make Germany the company's second-largest market, after Sweden.
