Chicago - Day 2 – Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007
Kelsey Group Local Track
The
Kelsey Group is programming a track of “local” sessions that
will take place on Day 2 of SES Chicago. These sessions will be moderated
by Kelsey Group analysts Charles Laughlin and Michael Boland.
10:15am-
11:15am
The Transformation of Local in a Search-Driven World
Online resources now bring us greater functionality and interactivity
in finding things locally than the Yellow Pages traditionally has. But
despite growing usage of local online search, a vast majority of transactions
still occur in the offline world. Given this reality, what are the most
effective ways to lead offline conversions with online search products?
Where will consumers turn most to find things online before they buy them
in the real world?
11:30am-12:30pm
Local Featured Speaker: TBA
Opportunities abound in local search for Internet Yellow Pages companies
and online pure plays. But there are significant challenges standing in
the way, such as growing traffic in a fragmented local search marketplace
and selling local search products to a fragmented base of local advertisers.
Kelsey Group analysts will take the stage for an interview with a leader
in the local search space.
2:00pm-
3:00pm
Driving Local Sales with Internet Yellow Pages and Search
Given the dizzying array of local search products for small business advertisers,
how will the local plumber, roofer or restaurant owner make any sense
of online marketing opportunities? Who will emerge to educate the SMB
marketplace on the alphabet soup of online advertising including CPA,
CPM, PPC? What is the optimal local ad model, and who will bring it to
us?
3:30pm-4:30pm
Online Maps: Plotting the Direction of Local Search
Online maps have found their way to become the centerpiece of local search,
taking over as the de facto local products of all major search engines.
But what else is in store for online and mobile maps as a tool to find
what you’re looking for locally? And what is the future of 3D mapping
to move beyond static search results and enter into an immersive experience
as the primary venue for local searches, product research, social networking
and travel?
